She has pulled out of her BRITs performance just hours before tonight's show.
The 24-year-old singer was set to deliver a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the Manchester terror attack but that honour will now go to Liam Gallagher.
Her withdrawal was said to have originally thrown the event into chaos as bosses scrambled to find a suitable replacement.
"It was utter chaos when the call came in that Ariana couldn't do it. It's race against time to get someone to do what is very much the centrepiece of the entire show," a source told The Mirror.
Organisers had remained tight-lipped on Ariana's involvement because they wanted her performance to be a touching surprise for fans.
But behind the scenes, bosses had been putting in the groundwork to ensure it was a tear-jerking showcase.
A source said of the planned emotional segment: "It will be the biggest talking point of the night. The whole industry wants to come together to pay their respects to the victims.
"The effects of that terrible night resonated far and wide in the music industry and it's only right everyone comes together to pay their respects."
Liam will no doubt be welcomed as a replacement however, as the Manchester native was also among the stars who performed at Ariana's One Love concert last June in aid of the victims who lost their lives at her concert in the city just a month prior.
The show's all-star line-up also included Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Take That and Katy Perry.
